New Beginnings: Rebranding, Launching, and Looking Ahead

Over the past year, I’ve tackled exciting projects, collaborated with incredible clients, and witnessed the transformative power of focused efforts & awesome branding. As 2024 winds down, it feels like the perfect time to reflect on recent milestones, share a couple of updates, and offer a glimpse into what’s in store for 2025.

From Michael Broley Development to MBD Studio

Rebranding isn’t just about changing a name—it’s about evolving. Michael Broley Development has grown far beyond its initial scope in the last 3 years, and the new name, MBD Studio, reflects this expansion. It’s cleaner, modern, and versatile—an identity that captures the diverse work I do while setting the stage for bigger aspirations in 2025.

The rebrand also signifies clarity: it separates my personal projects from my professional brand. It’s an evolution I’m excited about and one that better aligns with the polished, streamlined services MBD Studio offers.

Recent Launches – Websites that Tell Stories

It’s been a busy season for MBD Studio. I recently launched several projects that highlight the studio’s growing portfolio:

• Chester Fire Services Website: This was a deeply rewarding project. The Chester Fire Services Committee needed a platform to communicate their vision and rally community support for their new fire hall. The site integrates their social content and strategy seamlessly, creating a central hub for updates, fundraising, and community engagement.
• The Salon Website: For The Salon, the goal was timeless elegance. The website mirrors the high-end, personalized experience that Matthew provides in Chester, with a focus on secure bookings and showcasing the salon’s unique ambiance in the beautifully designed old Chester School House. A special thank you is owed to Hannah for modelling for our shoot.
• Exotic Fruit Nursery Website: This project was a completely different flavor—pun intended! The site bursts with vibrancy, celebrating their incredible inventory and passion for exotic fruits! The goal was to create a welcoming, accessible platform that connects with a new community they are growing.

Each of these sites tells a story, reflects the client’s essence, and achieves their goals, whether that’s community engagement, securing bookings, or celebrating their unique offerings. I love having the opportunity to work with such a diverse range of clients.

A Personal Space: Introducing ilikepigeons.com

As MBD Studio grows, it became clear I needed a dedicated personal space. Enter ilikepigeons.com, a corner of the internet where I can share thoughts, creative projects, and maybe even a few too many opinions about reality TV.

Why the separation? Because my professional brand deserves a clear focus, and my personal musings—whether they’re on branding trends, daily life, or pigeons—needed their own place to thrive.

Giving Back Through Volunteering

Volunteering has always been a meaningful part of my life, and I’m proud of the work I’ve done with the Mahone Bay Tourism & Chamber of Commerce. I’m excited to continue supporting the Chamber and helping it thrive, but I’m also thinking about what’s next.

By 2026, I hope to pivot toward a more tech-focused volunteer role where I can merge my skills in web development and branding with a cause that inspires me. Whether that’s through mentoring, providing digital solutions, or supporting non-profits, I’m looking forward to exploring new ways to give back.

At the same time, I’m excited to let ilikepigeons.com grow into its quirky, creative identity—a playground for ideas that don’t quite fit into the professional mold.
